We have noticed that several moderators are now using the video feature in Elluminate to project video of themselves and other presenters/participants. While video is a great addition to online sessions, it has been found that “talking head” video does not add much value to instruction. If you do decide to use video to personalize your sessions, you could do so for a short while and then turn off the video transmission after some time. Other, more productive, uses of video include its use for demonstrations, sessions with guest faculty, panel discussions, etc.
Additionally, when you record an Elluminate session, please note that the video transmission is also recorded. This can result in larger recording files which not only load our server, but also result in longer download times for viewers.
